Terry Drotar's 8 year old nephew Connor with his first spot and stalk hunt. He bagged 6 chipmunks with his Red Ryder BB gun in his hometown of Wilmot Wisconsin. Terry is a very proud Uncle of this youngster. He understands hunting is not for everybody, but says it is too bad we cannot introduce more kids to this dying sport and that the future of hunting depends on our youth.

I went hunting with my Grandpa Steve from November 10th to the 15th. We were hunting in north-west Colorado. There were five of us in our hunting party. By the day before closing day, everyone else had their tags filled. So that evening we went out again and my grandpa saw a huge buck going up into the trees on the side of the hill. We waited and the buck did not come back, so we decided to drive to the other side of the hill and see if we could spot him again. Once on the other side of the hill we spotted another deer and I got a good rest and took a shot. I hit him; I went to chamber another round but my 257 Rogers jammed when I short stroked the bolt. When I looked up again he had fallen. We went down to where I had shot him and there he was. He is a 4 by 5 with 3 inch eye guards and a 27.5 inch wide rack. Although not my first buck, he is definately my biggest!
